These terms cover DabbleLabs UK as a whole – the website at dabblelabs.uk and the software and services offered under the DabbleLabs name. They are written to be read once and rarely need changing: anything specific to a particular app or product (what it does, what it costs, how it works) lives in that product's own terms, not here. Where an individual product has its own terms, those sit alongside these and add to them; if the two ever genuinely conflict, the product's own terms win for that product.
DabbleLabs UK is an independent, one-person software maker based in the United Kingdom. It is run as a sole trader by Jody Florian – there is no company, no team, and nobody in a meeting deciding how to squeeze another tap out of you. "DabbleLabs", "we", "us", and "our" all mean the same thing throughout these terms. DabbleLabs UK is unaffiliated with Dabble Lab (dabblelab.com) or any similarly named company.
DabbleLabs makes small software products – things like mobile and desktop apps – and, for some of them, hosted online services such as accounts and syncing. Some products are free, some are paid, and some have an optional paid plan on top of a free core. The details of any one product, including what it does and what (if anything) it costs, are described on that product's own pages. These terms are the common ground underneath all of it.
Some products let you create an account so your data can sync across your devices, or so you can use a paid plan. If you do, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details reasonably safe and for what happens under your account. Let us know as soon as you can if you think someone else has gained access to it. You must be old enough to agree to these terms in your country (and at least 13). You can close your account at any time; see the product's own pages for how, and see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
We keep this simple, and it is mostly common sense. When using DabbleLabs software and services, please do not:
If someone seriously or repeatedly abuses a service in these ways, we may suspend or close their access to protect the service and other people using it. We would always rather sort a problem out with a message first, and will where we reasonably can.
Where a product is paid, the price and billing details are shown clearly before you pay, on that product's own pages. Payments are handled by established payment providers (such as Stripe) – your card details are entered with and held by the payment provider, and are never seen or stored by DabbleLabs. Paid plans are usually offered as a subscription that renews automatically each period until you cancel, so you keep uninterrupted access; the renewal terms for a given plan are shown before you subscribe.
This is the part we actually want you to remember, because a lot of software makes it deliberately awful and we refuse to.
None of this takes away the rights you already have as a consumer under UK law – it sits on top of them and, where we can, goes further.
DabbleLabs is a genuine best effort by one person. We work hard to keep everything running and to fix things quickly, but we cannot promise a service will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. From time to time we may need to change, pause, or retire a feature or a whole product – software evolves, and some experiments do not last forever. If we ever retire a paid product or hosted service, we will give reasonable notice, make it possible to get your data out first, and deal fairly with anything you have already paid for.
If we update these terms, the new version will be published here and the "Last updated" date above will change. If a change is significant and affects a product you actively use, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know. Continuing to use our software or services after an update means you accept the updated terms.
We want to be straight with you about this, rather than hide behind wording that promises the earth. DabbleLabs is a small, independent operation, and our software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without guarantees that it will meet every need or never go wrong. We do not offer enterprise-grade service levels, uptime guarantees, or dedicated support, because as one person we could not honestly keep them.
To the extent the law allows, DabbleLabs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities. Where we are found liable for something, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the product in question in the 12 months before the issue arose (and, for a free product, is limited to putting the problem right). Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited – for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your rights as a consumer under UK law.
The DabbleLabs name, the software, and the content on this site belong to DabbleLabs UK (or are used with permission), and are provided to you under a personal, non-transferable licence to use the products as intended. Anything you create with our software – your notes, your data, your content – remains yours; using our products does not give us ownership of it.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory laws of the country you live in.
DabbleLabs is built and run by one person, so please be patient if a reply takes a little while – but do get in touch, because feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next. Questions about these terms, refunds, or anything else can go to: [email protected]
