Privacy Policy

App: WakeWhisper· Developer: DabbleLabs UK· Last updated: 17 July 2026

1. Overview

WakeWhisper is a spoken alarm clock for Android. It works entirely on your device. There are no accounts and no sign-in, everything you set up is stored only on your phone, and there is no server anywhere holding your data. The single exception is an anonymous crash report, described in section 4.

2. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

None of this is transmitted to DabbleLabs UK or to anyone else. Deleting an item in the app, clearing the app's data in your Android settings, or uninstalling the app removes it.

3. Speech

When an alarm speaks, the app uses the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device to turn the text into sound. The speaking happens on the phone itself. No audio and no voice recording leaves your device, and the app does not use the microphone at all. Your device's text-to-speech engine is part of Android and is governed by your device manufacturer's and Google's own terms.

4. Crash reports

WakeWhisper can send anonymous crash reports if the app stops unexpectedly, to help us find and fix bugs. This is on by default; you can turn it off at any time under Settings > "Send anonymous crash reports". When enabled, a crash report is sent to a server operated by DabbleLabs UK (at dabblelabs.uk) and contains only: a randomly generated identifier for that single report, the app's package name and version, your Android version, your device brand and model, the time of the crash, and the technical details of the error (a stack trace). It does not contain a persistent device or installation identifier, and it does not contain any personal data, your alarms, your alert styles, the text an alarm speaks, or any account or location data (WakeWhisper has no accounts and does not use your location). Crash reports are used solely to diagnose and fix bugs, are not shared with any third party, and are automatically deleted after 90 days.

5. What the app does not do

WakeWhisper has no accounts and no sign-in. It runs no analytics, shows no advertising, and contains no third-party trackers. It does not sell or share your data with anyone. It does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone, or camera. Other than an anonymous crash report, nothing the app holds is ever uploaded.

6. Permissions

The app requests only the permissions it needs to be an alarm that reliably goes off:

7. Donations

If you choose to make a voluntary donation, any payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal. DabbleLabs UK does not collect or store any payment details.

8. Children

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your rights

Your alarms, alert styles, and settings are stored locally on your device. You can delete them at any time by removing them in the app, clearing the app's data in your Android settings, or uninstalling the app. If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR including the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. Since the app holds no account and uploads nothing, the only data DabbleLabs UK ever receives is an anonymous crash report; for anything relating to that, contact us at the address below.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. If we make changes, the new version will be published here and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
